Dry Period Feed (18% Crude Protein – 2700 Kcal Metabolizable Energy/kg)
Dry Period Feed is a concentrate feed, which provides protein, energy, and other nutrients at optimum concentrations for pregnant heifers or cows for about 2 months before parturition.
Raw Materials Used for the Production of Dry Period Feed
Dry Period Feed is manufactured from corn, barley, corn gluten, soybean meal (46% crude protein), canola meal, sunflower meal (36% crude protein – dehulled), corn distillers grain, and wheat bran.
Raw Materials NOT Used for the Production of Dry Period Feed
Wheat (causes rumen lactic acidosis due to faster starch digestion), urea (NPN), ammonium sulphate (NPN), sunflower hulls, sunflower meal (28% crude protein), animal byproducts, all food industry wastes (biscuits, pastry, chocolates, chips, nuts, etc.) are not used in the manufacturing of Manav Yem products.
Advantages of Use
Dry Period Feed contains quality and delicious raw materials, which provide a nice aroma and flavor and is willingly consumed by pregnant heifers or cows.
Milk Fever does not develop after parturition in heifers or cows fed with Dry Period Feed, which is formulated by taking anion-cation balance into account.
Dry Period Feed reduces the risk of negative energy balance (NEB) and thereby minimizes fatty liver and ketosis in high yielding dairy cows postpartum.
Dry Period Feed contains quality protein and energy sources to obtain maximum microbial protein synthesis.
The use of safe (slowly digested) starch sources in the manufacturing reduces the risk of rumen lactic acidosis and minimizes the acidosis-born problems such as scours and lameness.
The inclusion of high-quality premix (vitamins and minerals) in Heifer Feed improves reproductive efficiency and provides protection nutritional based metabolic disorders (lameness).
Toxin-born problems in the liver, mammary glands (mastitis), reproductive system (lack of estrus and/or infertility), and digestive system (scours) do not develop due to the safe use of raw materials in the manufacturing.
Recommendations for Use
Dry Period Feed is used for pregnant heifers or cows for about 2 months before parturition.
Dry Period Feed is used for pregnant heifers or cows in dairy or breeding cattle farms.
Dry Period Feed should be offered with roughages (corn silage, vetch hay, ryegrass hay, etc.) to the pregnant heifers or cows in a total mixed ration.
Pregnant heifers or cows should have free access to clean drinking water and mineral blocks.
Dry Period Feed should be given at least in two equal portions daily.
A 7 day transition period to Dry Period Feed should be done.
